The three day Birmingham Gay Pride festival is
always held over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May. Unfortunately this
year’s weather was yet again wet and chilly, not much fun for a colourful
parade full of feathery drag queens and boys in tiny speedo’s. Nevertheless the
show went on and everyone enjoyed themselves as much as they could in the
unlucky circumstances. I really must say a big mention to the Prowler Boys and sexy
gogo boy Wayne, who
stayed dressed in just their small trucks throughout the parade (and looked
fabulous). They were all heavily shivering as they reached the end of the
parade route because it was such a bitterly cold, wet day. Well done boys.
It was so wet that the main stage was cancelled;
acts and PA’s were moved to into the cities main gay nightclub (the Nightingale) to
perform.
