Birmingham is England’s second largest city and has the UK’s biggest free 2 day gay party weekend, attracting around 70,000 visitors. This year’s 2009 parade and party was a huge success due to the hot sunny weather and massive turnout of people eager to enjoy it. It started with a colourful parade from Victoria Square at 1pm on Saturday afternoon, 23rd May. The main stage then kicked off in the gay village at 3pm – 7pm with stars such as Sonia, Tara MacDonald, Coco Star, Kelly Pepper and S CLUB. Plus with 2 dance Arena’s, a Village Green & market area, fun fair, Cabaret Marquee and plenty of sexy boy eye-candy; it was a fantastic weekend of fun.

We were working for the cities largest gay nightclub – the Nightingale Club. For more info about Birmingham Pride log onto www.BirminghamPride.com

The Pride festival took place in Birmingham’s Gay Village, which covers the area around Hurst Street, Bromsgrove Street and Essex Street.
The event had a green theme due to it being supported by the Environment Agency

Spreading a pink meets green message with a doubling of effort to encourage more people and businesses to be more environmentally friendly.

The other main sponsors were Birmingham-based GB Training Ltd, Birmingham City Council as well as the many clubs, bars and businesses in the village area.
