Gay Pride festivals are held all round the world. England has its fair share London, Manchester, Birmingham and in September of 1999 it was Cardiff's turn. The Welsh valley boys were out in full swing as it was Cardiff's first ever Lesbian and Gay Mardi Gras.

On the day the sun shone, the music played and the people danced. It was a time to celebrate and that's what they did in true flamboyant style. Sexy boys, gorgeous girls and those that are in-between all enjoyed the amazing atmosphere together. Top name acts took to the stage throughout the afternoon and evening making it a fantastic day to remember. Tina Cousins kicked it all off followed by Soda Club, Dove, Technique, Shelley Nelson, Fierce, Rozalla to all name but a few. The night then finished around 9ish with popular boy band Damage. We were lucky enough to be involved as the go-go boys. Local star's also created a massive explosion from the crowd when Wales best known drag queens Miss Kitty and Beverly Ballcrusher took to the stage for a crowd sing-a-long.

A huge thanks goes out to the Gay Wales Committee and Galaxy 101, the organisers of the event and who made the day what it was.
