Barcelona Circuit Festival 2011

The 10 day event held at the beginning of August in Barcelona Spain is the largest gay and lesbian event in Europe, if not the world. 10 days of massive parties, after-hours and day time pool parties; plus many free day time activities such as conferences, speeches, art and film. Plus of the infamous Mar Bella gay beach is a popular must do experience to hang out with a Sangria and socialize with the boys. But if all the gay activities get too much, explore the beautiful city of Barcelona, its amazing attractions and unique architecture.

Even in this tough time of a world recession, this fourth edition of Circuit Festival was "bigger and better than ever". With just three previous editions and more than 140,000 attendees, the Matinee Group organizers have continued to work with the other major party promoters and DJ’s around the world to bring us all together in a mega Pride style atmosphere with a cherry on top.
 
If the full 10 days of parties is simply too much, then just go for a week or long weekend. Here are my favorite top 4 events:

1) Tuesday 9th August 2011 - the Gay Water Park Day at Illa Fantasia is one of the most amazing gay events ever! Its an event not to be missed, get there early and be prepared for the a long day of sun, fun and beautiful eye candy 10am-10pm. The late night speedo party then continues late into the early hours 10pm-6am.

2) Thursday 11th August 2011 - The Pool Party at Ghoa Beach Club.

3) The Big Saturday (13th August) day time Splash Pool Party at Complex Esportiu L'Hospitalet Nord followed by the Main Party at its massive sports arena next door. It was also my 35th Birthday and wow what a great day to have it.

4) Sunday 14th August - La Leche at L’Atlàntida Beach Club in Sitges.
