Euro Gay Ski 2002

Of the three main gay ski weeks available each year: Apen in America, Whistler in Canana and the European one, it’s the latter one which undoubtedly is the most popular with us British boys. Organised by Alternative Holidays; its run in a different way from the other two. The event is sold as an all inclusive holiday with-in a Club Med resort hotel. Everyone stays, eats and sleeps together in the same building; all your meals, lift pass's and evening entertainment are included in the price, plus there's many other bonuses like the daily aerobic and stretch classes, free ski tuition or mountain tours and unlimited wine and beer with your meals.

The hotel this year also had its very own heath club with a gym for the muscle boys, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and two saunas, which as you'd expect were all very popular!

Until this year various different French locations where chosen as the destination but this year it was the resort of Sestriere in Italy. As with previous years, the event was sold out, with about 600 boys, travelling in from over 25 different countries around the world.

Sestriere was the first purpose built ski village in the alps and today it's one of the best equipped and most modern resorts in the famous Milky Way. The

Milky Way is one of Europe's great ski circuits, boasting 400km of groomed pistes served by 101 lifts. It also successfully hosted the 1997 Alpine Skiing World Championships and will be the venue for the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Nightly after-dinner cabaret and late night discos were held each evening. The big highlight of the week came with a massive fancy dress party, everyone making a real effort to dress-up with some fabulous costumes. This year the theme was a "Snow Ball" with everyone dressing in white. Club night Salvation hosted the night, flying in DJ David Jimenez especially for it. Below you can watch a short 8 minute video from one of the acts…
