London Mardi Gras 2003

London has one of the best gay scenes in the world, so when it comes to Gay Pride celebrations you can expect a good time. This year the main festival was held for the first time in a premium location (Hyde Park) thanks to a Mayor with a liberal mind. Thanks goes out to Ken Livingstone, your doing a good job.

Although the festival hasn’t been free for the past couple of years its commercialisation has hopefully been a good thing. Many would argue this, saying a gay festival should be free for everyone to enjoy, but at the end of the day a festival has to be paid for some how. If donations and fundraisers don’t meet the budget year after year, you have to draw the line somewhere. The turn out was fantastic and atmosphere much better than last year. Unfortunately the rain couldn’t stay away which put the dampeners on things a bit, but rain doesn’t stop you having fun on a day like this.
