The London
Hippodrome played host to
Salvation’s
2008 Spring Bank Holiday Party
Circuit-style partying and red carpet raucousness collide a fabulous Central London setting.
The Hippodrome on Leicester Square is
a grand old theatre built at the
turn of the last century as a circus, a water spectacle featuring live polar
bears and elephants and a music hall. From the 1950’s Judy Garland,
Eartha Kitt and Shirley Bassey performed here. From 1983–1993 it was
owned by entertainment entrepreneur, Peter Stringfellow, and was home to huge
gay events that were world famous in their heyday. Gloria Estefan sang
here during this period. The club has a large capacity around 2000, several VIP
areas, tiered balcony overlooking the dance floor and one of the only
electronic dance floors that moves up and down!
London’s greatest DJ
talent included on rotation Miswhite,
Sharon O’ Love, Pier Morrocco,
Oliver M and Elliott J
Brown playing party-sexual funky, deep and vocal house.
