Gay Manchester 2005

Manchester has a massive gay scene, or village as its best known, centred around the cities famous Canal Street. The largest gay event is of course the very colourful and flamboyant Pride festival, which run’s over 10 days in August. The main day of which is on the Bank Holiday, this year Saturday 27th August. Over 200,000 people lined the streets to watch the event. Sexy, party boys and girls from all corners of the diverse gay scene, brightened up the streets, in there wild and wacky costumes. Entrants this year included a major first from the Army, the Royal Air Force, a Mountain Rescue Team, Royal Bank of Scotland and the posh department store Selfridges. Over £115,000 was raised for charity.
