Manchester Gay Pride 2008

Always a good weekend away, Manchester Pride is one of our favourite events on the gay calendar.

The main day is the Saturday of the Summer Bank Holiday Weekend, this year Saturday 23^rd August. We all got up early, pulled on our blue speedos and headed off out of the hotel. It’s always great to see so many people dressing up (or maybe down) to make the parade as colourful and flamboyant as it is.

The best float was awarded to Age Concern, and Essential Nightclub won best commercial float with its hunky construction workers.

After the parade everyone heads into the main festival centered around Canal Street then onto the main dance party Uni Challenge.
